Things needed:
- Brass stamp (included in kit)
- Spring washer (included in kit with hammering handle)
- Hammering handle (optional in our store)
- Spray bottle filled with water
- Hammer
Begin by screwing in the steel rod with the spring washer attached.
Spray your leather to be stamped with water.
Ensure the leather and stamp are on a firm surface. Hold the hammering handle steady, applying pressure downwards on the base of the stamp with your hand. Hit the hammering handle with the hammer with moderate force. If the stamp skips and creates a double impression, several smaller taps can produce a cleaner result than a single heavy hit.
Check your work - the resulting impression should be clear, with all details showing. Try to avoid moving the leather too much while it dries.
